A few guidelines we have for our environment, safety, and atmosphere:
No shoes on dance floor
No scents, perfumes, essential oils, lotions, shampoos, etc. Some people are allergic.
No smoking
No video or still cameras
No use of cell phones on the dance floor
No water containers on dance floor

Dance Jam has two dance spaces. The "Hot Room," which is the larger of the two spaces, features up-tempo recorded music. The deejays play a mix of music ranging from the cutting edge to the familiar. You will hear an eclectic blend that is sure to please most everyone.
The first 45 minutes to one hour is a luscious warm-up, so come early and unwind your body.
The "Warm Room" is a chill-out space. Music alternates weekly there between live and recorded music. The live music is mostly down-tempo and allows for deep, meditative movement with and without partners. The recorded music is also mostly down-tempo. You are likely to hear Ambient Groove, Jazz, Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, Blues, Latin, and Classical sprinkled in. A lot of people like to do Contact Improvisation in this room. The live and recorded music is very supportive of an inward journey.

We are a non-profit dance organization dedicated to sharing in the delight of dancing in a shoeless, smoke-free, alcohol-free, and scent-free environment. We encourage participation of the dancers in running and organizing our events.
